You can quickly browse to the first or last item of a specific category by following these steps:

• If you are in Date View, press F7 to switch to Category View.
• Select the category from the Category list.
• Press CTRL+ALT+RIGHT ARROW to navigate to the last (most recent) item of that category. CTRL+ALT+LEFT ARROW will take you to the first (earliest) item of the category.
• ALT+T will navigate to the category's item that is closest to today.

Note Make sure that the Navigate to closest date option is selected on the Navigation tab of the Options/General Options... menu.

Using the above key combinations in Date View will take you to the very first or very last item in the whole journal or to the item that is closest to today in the whole journal.

Note Instead of using the above key combinations you can also click on the navigation buttons on the Navigation toolbar.
